HomecomingOS Privacy Policy
Effective Date: August 17, 2026
Last Updated: August 17, 2026
HomecomingOS is operated by Serenitech Solutions ("Serenitech," "HomecomingOS," "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store, and protect information when you use the HomecomingOS mobile application, HomecomingOS.com, and related services.
We designed HomecomingOS to help members of the HBCU community discover, organize, share, and experience homecoming events and activities. We believe you should also understand what information is associated with your account and how it is used.
1. Information You Provide to Us
When you create or maintain a HomecomingOS account, you may provide information such as your email address, first and last name, display name, user handle, role, HBCU or college/university affiliation, affiliation type, class year, major, chapter or organization, home city, notification preferences, privacy and location-sharing preferences, and marketing preferences.
Some profile information may be optional. Information you choose to include in your public or community-facing profile may be visible to other HomecomingOS users.
We also maintain information related to account status, such as whether an account or email address has been verified.
2. Account and Authentication Information
HomecomingOS uses Supabase to provide account authentication and backend database services.
When you create an account, sign in, verify your email address, reset your password, or otherwise use account-related functionality, information necessary to authenticate and maintain your account is processed through Supabase.
Authentication information is used to provide secure access to HomecomingOS, protect accounts, prevent unauthorized access, and support account recovery and verification.
We do not have access to your password in readable form.
3. Information About Your Homecoming Experience
HomecomingOS may store information you provide or generate while using the application, including your selected homecoming, saved events, personal schedule or itinerary, event interactions, notification preferences, check-ins, and other information used to personalize your HomecomingOS experience.
Your selected HBCU or homecoming context may also be stored locally on your device or associated with your account where necessary to provide application functionality.
4. Community and User-Generated Content
HomecomingOS includes community features that allow users to create, submit, share, or interact with content.
Depending on the features you use, this may include events, reviews, ratings, comments, homecoming tips or "hacks," deals, trade listings, discussions, check-ins, direct messages, group messages, and similar community content.
Content you intentionally post to public or community areas of HomecomingOS may be visible to other users. Please use care when deciding what information to share publicly.
Direct and group messages are intended for the participants in those conversations. However, information may be accessed or preserved when reasonably necessary to operate the service, investigate reports of abuse or misuse, enforce our Terms of Use or Community Guidelines, protect users or the service, or comply with applicable law.
Other users may also save, copy, screenshot, or redistribute information you choose to share with them. HomecomingOS cannot control what another user does with information after you voluntarily share it.
5. Photos, Flyers, and Other Media
Certain HomecomingOS features may allow users to upload profile images, event flyers, or other media.
These files may be stored using infrastructure provided by Supabase or other service providers used to operate HomecomingOS.
If you upload content for public or community use, that content may be visible to other users according to the feature through which it was submitted.
6. Location and Check-In Information
HomecomingOS may provide location-related functionality, including event locations, maps and directions, homecoming-city information, weather information, check-ins, and features that allow users to indicate whether they wish to share location-related information with friends.
HomecomingOS does not currently rely on continuous background GPS tracking as a core feature.
When you voluntarily check in to a location or use a feature that shares location-related information, that information may be associated with your account and shared according to the privacy settings and feature you select.
If HomecomingOS introduces features that collect precise device location or continuous/background location in the future, we will request the appropriate device permission and update our privacy disclosures as necessary.
Links to maps or directions may open mapping applications or services installed on your device. Information processed by those external services is governed by their respective privacy policies.
7. Communications and Notifications
HomecomingOS may send transactional communications necessary to operate your account, including email verification, password reset, security, and other account-related messages.
HomecomingOS also uses push-notification services to deliver notifications you have enabled. Push notifications may be delivered using Expo and the notification infrastructure provided by Apple or Google, depending on your device.
You can manage HomecomingOS notification preferences within the application and may also control notification permissions through your device settings.
HomecomingOS maintains a marketing preference associated with user accounts. We do not currently use this preference to send general promotional marketing email. If we introduce marketing communications in the future, users who are eligible to receive them will be provided with appropriate choices to opt in or unsubscribe.
8. Information Collected Automatically
When you use HomecomingOS or its supporting services, certain technical information may be generated automatically as part of operating and securing the service.
This may include IP address, device or browser information, operating system information, authentication activity, request timestamps, application errors, server logs, and similar technical information.
We may use this information to operate and secure HomecomingOS, diagnose technical problems, prevent fraud or abuse, maintain service reliability, and understand application performance.
HomecomingOS does not currently use a dedicated third-party advertising or behavioral analytics platform. Our infrastructure providers, including Supabase, may maintain operational and security logs as part of providing their services.
9. Weather, Maps, Tickets, Hotels, and External Services
HomecomingOS may provide information from or links to external services to make planning a homecoming experience easier.
These services may include weather information provided through Open-Meteo, device mapping applications, event or ticketing services such as Eventbrite or other ticket providers, hotel search services, and other external websites or applications.
When you choose to open or interact with a third-party service, you are leaving HomecomingOS or communicating with a service we do not control. Information collected by that service is governed by its own terms and privacy practices.
A link to an external service does not mean that HomecomingOS controls that service's privacy practices.
10. Purchases
HomecomingOS may be offered as a paid application through an authorized application marketplace such as the Apple App Store or Google Play.
App purchases are processed by the applicable app-store provider. Serenitech Solutions does not directly collect or store your full credit-card or other payment-card information as part of the HomecomingOS app purchase.
Your transaction with Apple, Google, or another authorized marketplace is also subject to that provider's terms and privacy practices.

These providers may process information on our behalf as necessary to provide their services.
Other HomecomingOS Users
Information you intentionally make public or share through community features may be visible to other users according to the functionality and privacy settings you select.
Legal, Safety, and Security Reasons
We may disclose information when we reasonably believe doing so is necessary to comply with applicable law or a valid legal request; protect the rights, property, or safety of Serenitech Solutions, HomecomingOS, our users, or others; investigate fraud, security incidents, abuse, or violations of our policies; or protect the integrity and security of the service.

If Serenitech Solutions or HomecomingOS is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, information may be transferred as part of that transaction subject to applicable law.
13. HBCUs and Athletics Foundations
HomecomingOS may support or promote participating HBCUs and may contribute a portion of qualifying app revenue to applicable HBCU athletics foundations or related organizations.
Purchasing or using HomecomingOS does not, by itself, authorize us to provide your personal information to an HBCU, athletics foundation, or affiliated organization.
We do not provide individual purchaser information to an HBCU or athletics foundation solely because a portion of HomecomingOS proceeds may benefit that institution.
14. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide HomecomingOS, maintain your account, fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, protect the service, and enforce applicable agreements.
Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and why it is maintained.
When an account is deleted, information associated with the account will be deleted or anonymized as appropriate, subject to reasonable technical, security, backup, fraud-prevention, legal, and operational retention requirements.
Information contained in backups or security logs may remain for a limited period before being automatically overwritten or deleted.
Content you shared with other users may not always be completely removable from copies independently retained by those users.
15. Account and Data Deletion
HomecomingOS provides functionality for users to request deletion of their accounts.
When you delete your account, we will take reasonable steps to delete or anonymize personal information associated with the account from our active systems, except where retention is necessary for legitimate security, legal, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or other permitted purposes.
Additional information about account deletion may be provided within the HomecomingOS application or on HomecomingOS.com.
If you experience difficulty deleting your account, you may contact us using the privacy contact information below.
16. Your Privacy Choices
Depending on the functionality available to you, HomecomingOS allows you to manage certain profile information, notification preferences, privacy preferences, location-sharing preferences, and marketing choices.
You may also request access to, correction of, or deletion of certain personal information associated with your account.
Privacy rights may vary depending on where you live. Where applicable law provides additional rights regarding personal information, we will honor valid requests as required by law.
We may need to verify your identity before completing certain privacy-related requests.
17. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information processed through HomecomingOS.
These measures include use of established infrastructure providers and encrypted network communications where appropriate.
However, no internet transmission, electronic storage system, application, or service can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users should protect their account credentials and notify us if they believe their account has been compromised.
18. Children's Privacy
HomecomingOS is intended for the HBCU community and is not directed to children under the age of 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that personal information from a child under 13 has been collected in a manner inconsistent with applicable law, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through HomecomingOS, please contact us.
19. Website Privacy
HomecomingOS.com primarily provides information about HomecomingOS, application download information, support resources, and pages used in connection with account authentication and verification.
The website and its hosting providers may process technical information necessary to deliver and secure the site, such as IP addresses, browser information, request information, and server logs.
If additional website analytics, advertising, or non-essential cookie technologies are introduced, this Privacy Policy and any required consent mechanisms will be updated accordingly.
20. Third-Party Services
HomecomingOS relies on third-party technology and services to provide certain functionality. These may include Supabase for authentication, database, and storage services; Expo and Apple or Google infrastructure for push notifications; Open-Meteo for weather-related information; mapping applications selected by the user; and external event, ticketing, lodging, or other services accessed through links.
Those providers may process information according to their own privacy policies and terms.
We encourage users to review the privacy practices of third-party services they choose to access.
21. Changes to This Privacy Policy
HomecomingOS will continue to evolve, and our privacy practices may change as new functionality is introduced.
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes to HomecomingOS, our technology, legal requirements, or our privacy practices.
When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. If a change materially affects how we handle personal information, we will provide additional notice when appropriate or required by law.
